One small cat who caused so much turmoil
Thought perhaps you might want to see what Ginger looks like. She is a very feminine kitty-fine boned with delicate triangular face. When she rolls on the sidewalk she displays her perfect bikini, a small white bra and little white panty.
She is not easy to photograph, being very suspicious of anything with which she is not familiar. My neighbor did capture a few moments of Ginger's life this summer on film. She sent them to me last night so I am passing a few along to you.
It amazes many of us living here how one small cat who does no harm could have created such a furor. Now as the earth settles down to winter, the cold wind blows (And how!), the thermometer drops, Ginger spends more time curled up inside the little house on my porch. I have a heating pad inside on the floor covered by a bath towel which I adjust according to the outside temp.
She comes indoors to eat. She is extremely cautious, poking her head in and scoping out the room before she slinks in. Once inside, discovering no person here but me (and of course Hannah and Sue), she settles right down acting as if she owned the place. She eats, then checks out all the chairs and corners , rubbing her whiskers on each corner to let Susie know she is making a claim to this place. Today when Hannah left her crate to get a drink from the water bowl across the room, Ginger decided to claim the crate too. She toured the interior, leaving her whisker rubs about, then casually strolled out. Hannah , who had been anxiously watching,
dashed into her crate and turning around to face the opening, she grabbed the gate with her claw and slammed the crate door shut.
Not about to let that happen again!
For now there has been no more said about the fugative that I am
harboring. Perhaps everyone is busy, busy, busy with holiday plans.
Just maybe while listening to the lovely Christmas music and watching the holiday movies and cartoons-being washed in all the spirit of love, a tiny bit of warmth and charity will, like the Grinch,
increase the size of the angry hearts, and Ginger's place here will
be safe.

Lovely Ginger! Lucky to have a friend like you. Maybe everyone realized how
ReplyDeletehorrible it was to begrudge such a small animal warmth. Good on you! Patty
